Poonam is a Chartered Accountant with over 22 years’ experience in finance controllership, specialising in reporting, audits, compliance, risk assessment and business decision support through budgeting and forecasting. She has worked extensively across healthcare, equipment & services, and financial services sectors.

At BDO EDGE India, Poonam leads the BSO practice, overseeing finance and accounting operations and driving process excellence. Her experience spans financial control functions covering employment costs, benefits, fixed assets, recoveries and recharges, as well as managing large-scale transitions of work from onshore locations to India. She has also delivered significant change projects, including payroll system automation, finance ledger transformation, evaluation of control standards and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency.

Poonam is adept at collaborating with global teams and senior stakeholders across reporting, tax, HR and audit functions, enabling process optimisation and stronger business resilience.
